Retail BI dashboard: stores, products, and the questions in between
Retail reporting goes wrong when it copies the POS ticket. A BI dashboard for retail should answer how the chain is doing, which stores and categories move the result, and where stock or promo is distorting the picture.
Business problem
A trading company needs one weekly rhythm: how we traded, versus last year, versus plan, by store and category — without waiting for a custom report from IT every Monday.
Business questions
Which stores are off plan? Which categories grew units but lost margin? Is the result promo, price, or traffic? Those questions decide the pages more than any chart pack.
KPIs, model, DAX, dashboard
KPIs typically include sales value, units, margin, like-for-like where the grain allows it, and a stock or availability signal if the schema has it. Facts sit at ticket or line grain; dimensions cover store, product, and date.
