These Terms of Service set out the rules for using the BiDesignLab web service available at bidesignlab.com (the “Service”).
BiDesignLab is a tool that supports the design of Business Intelligence solutions, in particular solutions intended for use in Microsoft Power BI.
1. General provisions
The operator of the Service is:
BiDesignLab web service available at bidesignlab.com
Contact:
podkowa71@gmail.com
Using the Service means you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Creating an Account, signing in, or using a feature that requires registration is additional confirmation that you accept the Terms in force at the time you use the Service.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms:
- Service — the BiDesignLab web application available at bidesignlab.com.
- User — a person using the Service.
- Operator — the party operating the Service, identified in section 1.
- Account — an individual user account that enables features requiring sign-in, in particular saving projects and generating packages.
- Project — a BI solution created by the user in BiDesignLab.
- Data schema — a description of data structure including, in particular, table names, column names, data types, and relationship information.
- KPI — a performance indicator or other business measure designed as part of the solution.
- AI — artificial-intelligence technologies used by BiDesignLab to analyse information and generate proposals.
- Package — a ZIP file generated by BiDesignLab containing, among other things, a Power BI project and supporting materials.
- Power BI project — a project intended to be opened in Power BI Desktop, in particular in `.pbip` format.
- Plan — the set of features and limits available in the Service, in particular the Free plan and any future paid plans.
3. Nature and scope of the service
BiDesignLab lets the user go through a report-solution design process, including in particular:
- creating a project
- defining the business area
- entering a data schema
- indicating the intended data source
- analysing the project with AI
- preparing a business proposal
- designing the data model
- designing KPIs
- defining the report structure
- designing dashboards
- defining the report look and feel
- generating a Power BI project
- downloading the prepared package
The Package may also include sketches of the same solution for other BI tools, in particular Tableau and Qlik, if that feature is available. Those sketches are not native, ready-to-open files for those tools in the way a `.pbip` project is for Power BI Desktop.
BiDesignLab is a design and analytical-support tool.
The Service is not an accounting, finance, HR, or sales system, and it is not intended for storing the user’s production databases. BiDesignLab does not replace professional business, financial, tax, legal, or technical advice.
4. No need to provide production data
You do not need to provide actual data records to design a solution.
The wizard is based primarily on data structure, in particular:
- table names
- column names
- data types
- relationships
- information about data sources
You should not send production data to BiDesignLab unless it is necessary to use a specific feature.
In particular, do not send:
- database passwords
- access tokens
- API keys
- login credentials
- full customer databases
- actual employee data
- actual financial data
- other confidential production data, unless it is needed for a feature to work
BiDesignLab does not automatically connect to your production database to retrieve its contents.
5. Plans, limits, and payments
The core BiDesignLab features, including going through the wizard and — after creating an Account — generating and downloading a Package, are currently available on the Free plan at no charge.
The Operator may later introduce paid plans, in particular plans described as Professional or Enterprise, and may change the scope of the Free plan.
The Operator may introduce usage limits, in particular on the number of projects, AI analyses, or Package generations. Current limits, if any, are shown in the Service.
Until payments are introduced, using the features described in these Terms does not require a fee, subject to any Free-plan limits and technical restrictions.
If a specific service becomes paid, the following will be presented before purchase: the price, plan scope, billing period, payment method, and — for consumers — information about the right of withdrawal, where such a right applies.
If a subscription is introduced, the Operator will set out in the Service the rules for renewal, cancellation, and ending a paid plan. Ending a subscription does not take away your right to use Packages you already downloaded, subject to third-party rights and the licence terms of external technologies.
6. User account
Some BiDesignLab features may be used without registration. In that case the Service may create a temporary guest identity (an identifier in a cookie) so project progress can be saved on your device.
An Account may be required in particular to:
- save a project
- return to a project later
- generate a package
- download a Power BI project
- use features available only to signed-in users
An Account may be created with an email address or via Google, if that sign-in method is available in the Service. If you sign in with Google, part of the authentication process uses Google’s infrastructure.
You agree to provide accurate information. You are responsible for protecting the credentials that give access to your Account.
You should not share your Account with other people unless the Service provides shared accounts.
After you create an Account, guest progress may be transferred to the registered account.
7. User projects
You may create your own Projects in the Service.
A Project may include, among other things:
- a name
- a business description
- a data schema
- data-source information
- KPI proposals and definitions
- a data model
- page structure
- dashboard configuration
- visual settings
- a logo and graphics you upload
You are responsible for the information you put into a Project. You should hold the rights or appropriate permissions for materials you submit to the Service.
Projects of a signed-in user are kept until you delete them or the Account is deleted. Drafts abandoned early in the wizard may be deleted after 30 days without updates. Detailed retention rules are set out in the Privacy Policy.
8. Use of artificial intelligence
BiDesignLab uses AI to support the BI design process. The current AI model provider is OpenAI (API, GPT-family models). The Operator may later use other providers and will inform you in the Service or in the Privacy Policy.
AI may in particular:
- analyse the data schema
- recognise possible meanings of tables and columns
- propose a data model
- propose KPIs
- assess whether a KPI can be calculated
- propose report pages
- propose charts
- propose a dashboard layout
- prepare project summaries
- help you refine requirements
You acknowledge that AI-generated results may be incomplete, inaccurate, incorrect, or unsuitable for a particular business case.
Information sent to AI is limited to what is needed for the relevant function. OpenAI processes it under its own terms of service.
9. No guarantee of a correct solution
BiDesignLab takes care to make generated solutions useful and consistent with the information you provide.
The Operator does not, however, guarantee that:
- every proposed KPI will be appropriate for your business
- the data model will be optimal in every case
- every relationship will be recognised correctly
- every visual will be business-appropriate
- the generated project will work without further configuration
- the project will be compatible with every version of Power BI Desktop
- the solution will meet all of your individual requirements
- measures, DAX expressions, or other automatically generated elements will be correct in every environment
You should review the generated project before using it for business purposes, including before production use, presenting it to a client, or making decisions based on the report.
10. Generating a Power BI project
After the design process you may generate a Package.
The Package may include, among other things:
- a Power BI project
- `.pbip` files
- measure definitions and a measure list
- model information
- an implementation guide
- supporting information
- sketches of the solution for other BI tools, if that feature is available
The Power BI project is intended for further work in Power BI Desktop. BiDesignLab does not replace Power BI Desktop.
The ZIP package is assembled in your browser at download time and is not stored as a lasting file on BiDesignLab servers. Project configuration remains in the database so the package can be generated again, as long as the Project still exists.
After downloading the Package you are responsible for:
- opening the project
- configuring data sources
- entering credentials
- refreshing data
- checking that the model is correct
- verifying KPIs, measures, and DAX expressions
- checking that the report works
Database passwords and credentials are configured by you in Power BI Desktop, not in BiDesignLab.
11. Compatibility with Power BI
BiDesignLab generates a project intended for use in Power BI Desktop.
Because Power BI, its project format, features, and technical requirements may change, the Operator does not guarantee full compatibility with every current and future version of Power BI Desktop.
You should use a current, compatible version of Power BI Desktop and follow Microsoft’s technical requirements. Opening a `.pbip` project may require enabling the relevant features in Power BI Desktop.
BiDesignLab is not a Microsoft product or an official Microsoft partner, unless the Service clearly states otherwise.
12. Data sources
You may indicate an intended data source, such as:
- Excel
- CSV
- SQL Server
- PostgreSQL
- MySQL
- Oracle
- an existing Power BI project
Indicating a data source in BiDesignLab is for designing the future solution. Indicating a source does not grant BiDesignLab access to that source.
BiDesignLab does not store your passwords to production databases unless you submit them to the Service. You should not submit such passwords to the Service.
13. User responsibilities
You agree to:
- use the Service in accordance with the law and these Terms
- provide accurate information
- not submit unlawful content
- not submit data you do not have the rights or a legal basis to submit
- not submit passwords, API keys, or other credentials to the Service
- not use the Service to attempt unauthorised access to IT systems
- not use the Service to bypass security
- not take actions that may disrupt the Service
- not use the Service to send malicious content, viruses, or other harmful software
- review AI-generated results before using them, in particular before production use
14. Prohibited use
It is prohibited in particular to:
- attempt unauthorised access to the Service
- bypass limits and security measures
- automatically overload the Service infrastructure
- exploit Service defects to obtain unauthorised benefits
- copy or reverse-engineer Service mechanisms to build a competing solution without appropriate rights
- use the Service for unlawful activity
- submit content that infringes third-party rights
15. Availability of the Service
The Operator takes care to keep BiDesignLab running continuously and stably. The Operator does not, however, guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Interruptions may result, among other things, from:
- maintenance
- updates
- infrastructure failures
- failures of external providers
- internet-connection problems
- force majeure
- attacks or other events beyond the Operator’s control
The Operator may temporarily restrict access to some features in order to carry out maintenance or to protect security.
16. Third-party services
BiDesignLab may use third-party technology providers. This includes in particular services related to:
- hosting and databases
- authentication, including Google sign-in
- AI, including the OpenAI API
- file storage
- security
- technical monitoring
Some features may depend on third-party services working correctly. A failure of an external provider may temporarily make some BiDesignLab features unavailable.
17. BiDesignLab intellectual property
Rights in the Service, its code, interface, layout, graphics, names, marks, mechanisms, and other legally protected elements belong to the Operator or the relevant rights holders.
Using BiDesignLab does not transfer to you any rights in the Service source code or architecture.
Without the Operator’s consent you may not:
- copy the Service code
- reproduce its mechanisms
- distribute Service elements
- share copies of the application
- use Service materials beyond what the law allows
18. Your rights in data and materials
You retain the rights in materials, data, descriptions, and other content you enter into BiDesignLab yourself, provided those rights belonged to you before you entered them.
Submitting content to BiDesignLab does not transfer ownership of that content to the Operator.
You grant the Operator an appropriate right to process that content technically to the extent needed to provide the Service. This includes in particular:
- saving the Project
- analysing the Project
- processing information with AI
- generating KPIs
- generating a Power BI project
- saving Project configuration
- letting you download the Package
19. Rights in generated results
Results generated with BiDesignLab may include elements produced automatically by AI, including proposals for the model, KPIs, measures, report pages, and Power BI project files.
You may use the generated project — including the downloaded Package and `.pbip` project — in accordance with the law and the purpose of the Service, for your own use or for your clients, subject to third-party rights and the licence terms of external technologies, in particular Microsoft Power BI and OpenAI.
The Operator does not transfer to you rights in the Service, the wizard, or the generation mechanisms. You receive the ability to use the results generated for your Project.
BiDesignLab does not guarantee that every automatically generated element will be free from similarities to existing solutions or materials.
You are responsible for a final review of the project before commercial or production use.
20. Operator liability
The Operator is not responsible for business decisions made on the basis of results generated by BiDesignLab.
The Operator is not responsible in particular for:
- incorrect business decisions
- incorrect interpretation of data
- incorrect KPIs, measures, or DAX expressions resulting from incorrect input or from the nature of AI proposals
- incorrect user data
- incorrect data sources
- errors resulting from Power BI configuration
- problems resulting from the Power BI version
- problems with external data sources
- failures of third-party services
- data loss resulting from your actions
- use of the generated project in a way inconsistent with its purpose
- the consequences of using the project without your review
To the extent permitted by law, the Operator’s liability arising from use of the Service is limited to damage caused by the Operator’s wilful misconduct or gross negligence, subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules.
BiDesignLab is a design-support tool and does not replace professional business, financial, tax, legal, or technical advice.
21. Responsibility for input data
You are responsible for the information you enter into the Service. If you enter incorrect or incomplete information, the result generated by BiDesignLab may be incorrect.
This applies in particular to:
- the data schema

The Operator applies appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect information processed in the Service.
Detailed information about security and data processing is in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the security of your device, Account, and downloaded Packages.
23. Account deletion
You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your Account.
You can send an Account-deletion request to:
podkowa71@gmail.com
You may delete an individual Project yourself in the application, if that feature is available.
Deleting the Account may cause you to lose access to saved Projects. Some data may be retained if storage is required by law or is necessary to establish, pursue, or defend claims.
24. Suspension or restriction of access
The Operator may restrict or suspend access to an Account or to Service features in the event of:
- a breach of these Terms
- suspected abuse
- an attempt to compromise security
- use of the Service in a way that threatens its operation
- unlawful activity
Where possible, you will be informed of the reason for the restriction.

- technology changes
- changes of service providers
- the introduction of payments or new plans
- changes in the law
The current version of the Terms is published in the Service.
Users may be informed of material changes in an appropriate way, in particular through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after a new version is published means you accept it, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
28. Personal data protection
The rules for processing personal data are set out in the separate BiDesignLab Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy forms an integral part of the rules for using the Service as regards personal-data processing.
29. Consumer provisions
If you use BiDesignLab as a consumer, the legal rules that grant consumers appropriate protection apply.
These Terms are not intended to limit consumer rights arising from mandatory law.
If a specific service is provided for a fee, the rules on price, payment, the service period, and any right of withdrawal will be set out additionally before purchase. For digital content delivered immediately after purchase, the Operator will inform you of the effect of consenting to performance before the withdrawal period expires, where the law requires it.
